Fissionaire COO Scott Ferrara recently co-authored a pivotal paper challenging the validity and costs associated with Double-Ended Guillotine Break (DEGB) requirements.

In my 36 years in nuclear, through sound engineering, strong quality assurance, and rigorous operational standards brought to the industry by Admiral Rickover, we have proven nuclear power to be a resilient and safe source of energy.

During my time at Idaho National Laboratories (INL), we challenged the regulatory status quo to expedite licensing and accelerate innovation. By leveraging modern analytics and operational data, we can finally drive the risk envelope to be ‘right-sized’.

I applaud John Wagner and my former INL team for the bold vision that aligns with our national policy to advance nuclear innovation and break down regulatory burden that does not provide benefit aligned with cost. This work to challenge the validity and costs associated with the Double-Ended Guillotine Break (DEGB) requirements is vital to right-sizing risks in nuclear applications.

At Fissionaire, we are working to accelerate and deploy the ultimate nuclear solution.

Through our collaboration with INL, DOE National Laboratories, and leading universities, we will realize long-term energy security by deploying our proliferation-resistant Thermal Spectrum Molten Salt Breeder Reactor (TS-MSBR) – breaking down technical challenges and deploying at the speed of relevance.

In collaboration with INL, DOE’s National Laboratories, and universities, long-term energy security will be realized through the deployment of our proliferation-resistant Thermal Spectrum Molten Salt Breeder Reactor (TS-MSBR).
