Accelerating the TS-MSBR Roadmap at Argonne National Laboratory
Fissionaire recently visited Argonne National Laboratory (ANL) for a series of technical discussions and alignment opportunities aimed at maturing our technology development roadmap. As a premier U.S. Department of Energy center, Argonne remains a critical resource for solving the complex, national-scale challenges required to secure America’s energy future.
Our leadership team, David Holcomb, Ben de Putter, and David Rehm, engaged directly with ANL to conduct a capability mapping session. The goal was clear: identify exactly how Argonne’s world-class infrastructure can support and accelerate the development of our Thermal Spectrum Molten Salt Breeder Reactor (TS-MSBR).
A key focus of our discussions involved the essential work Argonne performs in developing thermophysical and thermochemical salt property measurements. Access to high-fidelity Thorium salt data is a critical requirement for the industry, and leveraging the Lab's expertise in this area is a priority for Fissionaire as we move forward.
Beyond the technical presentations, ranging from physics modeling capabilities and large-scale MSR systems testing, our facility tours highlighted the synergy between Fissionaire and Argonne’s legacy of pioneering clean energy and material science.
We look forward to exploring these collaborative pathways and utilizing established experimental frameworks to bring safe, abundant, clean power to the grid.
